Abstract	Ovaj rad se bavi temom atenske demokracije u okvirima političke filozofije. Pretežno je korištena knjiga britanskog autora i profesora povijesti John Thorleya pod istoimenim nazivom. Njegov pristup je povijesni, te kronološki daje jedan prikaz razvoja demokracije. Temelj svakog poznavanja atenske demokracije je Aristotelov Ustav atenski. Kroz jedan faktografski i povijesni pristup nastojao sam dati i filozofsku refleksiju nastanka demokracije kroz racionalnost grčke religije, Homera, Hesioda i pojave političnosti u antičkoj Grčkoj. Najvažniji stupovi demokracije su Solon i Klisten, koji su napravili sustav koji je u suprotnosti s tiranijom.
